The Year 2 children were extremely lucky to have a visit from Devon and Cornwall Fire services. What great fun! James showed the children a virtual tour of the fire station and the different equipment they use. They learnt about what types of responsibilities the Fire service have, such as: rescuing animals, rescuing people from floods and the importance of checking smoking alarms at home.
They children also found out the number to call in an emergency and learnt the actions to take if something on their person was on fire, ‘stop, drop and roll’.
There was lots of learning from a fun filled session. Well done Year 2, you were a credit to the school.
