RYDON PUPILS CELEBRATE NATIONAL TESTS AS PRIMARY RESULTS ANNOUNCED

Rydon Primary School children outperform national averages in Reading, Writing, Maths and in Punctuation and Grammar

Staff and pupils at Rydon Primary School are celebrating this year’s superb performance in national examinations. The oldest children from the school have shown off what they are capable of achieving with a range of fantastic results.

The pupils achieved some fantastic results which saw them come out confidently on top of the national average in all subjects, outcomes are also being celebrated for those achieving at a greater depth, especially for reading and maths.

The fantastic Rydon Primary results were in part due to the school’s decision to implement a range of different supportive measures, including focused and inspirational teaching, catch up programmes delivered by skilled staff and an ongoing commitment to their mental health and wellbeing through the school's 11 by 11 opportunities such as the ‘fiver challenge’ to raise funds for a range of charities and also their engagement in 'The Pride of Rydon' awards which see children achieving things both for themselves and their community.

Catherine Willcocks, Headteacher at Rydon Primary School, said:

“We are incredibly proud of our pupils for achieving such impressive results. The consistent hard work and dedication they have demonstrated throughout their time here at Rydon are truly commendable. I am especially pleased to see their achievements being recognised across all subjects so that they are well prepared for their secondary settings. This week they have also displayed their incredible talents in their end of term performances to parents. Another proud week!”

Matthew Shanks, CEO at Education South West, said:

“Congratulations to the staff and the entire Rydon Primary School community on these exceptional results. These achievements are the culmination of the remarkable dedication and hard work of both pupils and staff. I am immensely proud of everyone involved. Our commitment to providing the best possible learning environment for all pupils is clearly reflected in these excellent outcomes. Well done to the whole team for their incredible efforts!”
